Iona Stables & Inn

Company Spotlight

Iona Stables is a 35-acre working horse farm that the same family has owned since the 1880s.

The current home was built in 2003 by Robert and Linda, who share a deep love for the land, the solitude, and the peace it provides to the soul.

The estate name of Iona draws inspiration from an island off the coast of Scotland founded by St. Columba and known as the center for spiritual renewal for over 100 years.

Robert and Linda have decided to share their blessing as bed and breakfast in recent years. They desire that Iona is also a place for rest, renewal, and spiritual awakening to all who visit their home. They thoroughly enjoy serving others and feel very fortunate for the opportunity to meet new and interesting people that they would not have met otherwise.

Just twenty minutes from the Delaware State Fair Grounds, where numerous equestrian events take place, Iona is the perfect place to stay without having to leave your horse in the trailer.

There is ample parking for pickups and trucks, and additional parking is available for horse trailers.

You are welcome to ride around the property, and there are also seasonal trails at various State Parks, both inland and on the ocean.

Please note; horses (no stallions) can only occupy the stables and pastures if the owner stays at Iona Inn. It will also be the owner’s responsibility to provide feed and care during their stay.

Health records will be required upfront. The documents need to include veterinary certifications and up-to-date shot records.
